October is going to be an even stronger month for Mount Pisgah. We will begin the month with celebrating Holy Communion on October 2nd.  Later that afternoon, our 72hour Bible reading will begin at 2:30 pm in the sanctuary.  I remember when I first heard of a church actually reading God’s Word, I thought it was CRAZY!  I believe that God is getting ready to bless Mount Pisgah in ways that we cannot imagine. (Ephesians 3:20) My dream is to have 350 different people read and take time to pray in the sanctuary. On October 5, we will gather in the sanctuary at 7 pm for a special service for what God has done in our lives. Donald Thomas’ group “Soldiers Again Trio” will be leading the music that night. Let us all come together for this special weekday service of thanksgiving and praise and fill our sanctuary.
On October 2 at 3 pm, our Fall Festival will be held at the church. Donald and Jamie are working to make this a great event for the families. On October 30th, our “Trunk or
Treat” will take place at the church at 6 pm. Both of these are big events for our children’s ministry and I encourage you to support them and invite another family.
On October 23rd during the 11 am service, the church will celebrate current shut-ins and those who are at least 80 years young and who also attend Mount Pisgah.  Following the service, a special meal will be shared specifically with them and their caregivers or those who are helping them be present. All those we know in the church who are 80 and older should have received an invitation in the mail (if their birthdate is in the computer system). Please contact LuAnn if you are 80 and older and have not received an invitation. A tentative list has over 60 names on it. If you would like to help with transportation of these individuals, please contact LuAnn. That afternoon at 2 pm on the front lawn of the church, our first “Blessing of the Animals” will take place.  Bring your pet on a leash and all will gather to bless the animals. That afternoon at 4 pm, the Church Council will meet.
On October 30, Donald Thomas will be preaching all services. That evening, everyone will gather for the Truck or Treat, beginning at 6pm. Before October winds down, we are hoping to have the elevator in place, along with the pictorial directory.  Thank you for your patience!
Also, during this month, please support the Whobodies in their efforts in selling pumpkins.   Rev. Jeff Johnsen, Senior Pastor
